Duration: 60 minutes per class

Capacity: Up to 60 students with appropriate supervision (depending on age and context)

Organization: Available for multiple classes on the same day, or as a workshop series spread over several days or weeks.

Educational Objectives

-Develop coordination and motor skills

-Discover different dance styles and associated cultures

-Encourage physical expression and creativity

-Build self-confidence and promote the joy of moving

Workshop Outline

  1. Warm-up: Physical and rhythmic warm-up.
  2. Learning: Creation of a choreography adapted to the participants’ age and level.
  3. Exploration: Dance games and improvisation moments to unleash creativity.
  4. Performance & Cool-down: Short final presentation followed by stretching.

Adaptability & Final Presentation

The standard format is a single, one-time workshop concluded by a short performance by the participants. In the workshop series format, the choreography is progressively enriched to build a more elaborate performance in front of an audience (other classes or parents). Workshops can also be adapted to your specific themes (e.g., world celebrations).

Microgrant Funding and Booking Procedures

Standard Rate: $280 per workshop (60 min)

Turnkey Option (Recommended): Thanks to micro-grants (PassepArt, ViceVersa, FrancoZone…), your school has a $1,200 budget for workshops. This fully covers the 4-workshop series at no cost to the school. We highly recommend this complete formula for the same group to guarantee a real impact on the students’ emotional development.

The ACFA régionale de Calgary exclusively organizes this show as part of the PasseP’art, ViceVersa, and Immers’Art microgrants. Microgrants amount to $1,500 per workshop and/or show series, per school, per year. For more information regarding these microgrants, please visit the following webpages: PassepArt, ImmersArt, ViceVersa. The ACFA applies a $300 administrative fee per agreement to cover costs related to processing the microgrant application, preparing agreements, as well as billing and payments.

To book the show, please contact us at info.calgary@acfa.ab.ca. In the event that the school wishes to book the workshop outside of the microgrant framework, we will put you directly in touch with the artist.
