About the Group
Ngongi Africa is a musical group specializing in the performance and promotion of various African sounds. Through their repertoire, the group celebrates and shares Congolese culture in its entirety. Renowned for its dynamism and authenticity, the group offers immersive performances that transport the audience to the heart of Central Africa’s musical traditions and evolutions.
Performance Offerings and New Features
The group stands out for its great flexibility and adaptability. For each event, performances are customized and tailored to match the overall theme of the activity. For the upcoming season, Ngongi Africa is renewing its repertoire by integrating new contemporary sounds, offering a brand-new artistic experience compared to previous editions while remaining faithful to the essence of Congolese rumba.
Microgrant Funding and Booking Procedures
Standard Rate: $1,200 / 4-Workshop Package
- Includes four 60-minute sessions (Minimum booking required)
- The ACFA applies a $300 administrative fee per agreement to cover costs related to processing the micro-grant application, preparing contracts, invoicing, and payments.
Micro-grants amount to $1,500 per series of workshops and/or performances, per school, per year. Community organizations manage these micro-grants for schools and handle the hiring of artists or consultants. Regional Travel Expenses
For workshops taking place outside of Calgary, a flat fee of $100 for travel expenses applies to the following regions: Airdrie, Cochrane, and Okotoks.
