School Workshops – Alliance Française of Calgary
The Alliance Française of Calgary offers immersive cultural and linguistic workshops for primary and secondary school students. Through a variety of fun activities, students explore the French language and culture in a stimulating and supportive environment, with the main objective of developing their oral practice and confidence.
Workshop Features
Duration: Approximately 1.5 to 2 hours per workshop.
Group Size: Limited to a maximum of 12 students to guarantee optimal interaction. For groups larger than 12, the Alliance Française provides two or more instructors.
Audience: Adaptable according to grade levels and educational goals (Primary, Secondary, Immersion, French as a Second Language – FSL).
Available Workshop Themes
Storytelling and Comic Strips (BD) Students imagine and build their own story in French, from the initial idea to the storyboard. Through comic book creation, they develop their creativity while working on vocabulary and narrative structures. This workshop encourages oral and written expression in a fun environment.
Visual Arts and Creativity This workshop combines artistic expression and French practice through various creative activities. Students explore colors, shapes, and techniques while following instructions in French. It is an ideal approach to learning differently and stimulating the imagination.
Discovering Francophone Cultures Students discover the diversity of the French-speaking world through its traditions, countries, and lifestyles. The focus is on exchange, curiosity, and cultural openness, allowing them to practice the language in an authentic and lively context.
Gastronomy and Traditions An invitation to explore Francophone culture through food and traditions. Students discover culinary specialties, kitchen vocabulary, and cultural practices using a sensory and interactive approach.
Games, Cinema, and Interactive Activities in French French practice takes place here through games, film clips, and dynamic activities. The emphasis is on listening comprehension and spontaneous speaking in a relaxed and participatory setting.
DELF B1 Preparation This workshop prepares students for the DELF B1 exam through targeted activities and practical training. It allows them to become familiar with the exam format and develop effective strategies to build confidence.
DELF B2 Preparation A comprehensive preparation to approach the DELF B2 exam with confidence. The workshop offers an in-depth review of oral and written skills, with a special focus on argumentation, comprehension, and production.
Rates and Flexible Formats
Sliding-scale rates are available depending on the number of groups booked. Customized quotes can be provided upon request based on the specific needs of the school (ages, levels, duration).
1 group: $350
2 groups: $300 / group
3 groups: $250 / group
4 groups: $225 / group
Travel fees: $150 / day
